Subrata Paul Gets Contract with FC Vestsjælland
26 December 2013
Subrata Paul, India’s national team goal-keeper, became the first Indian footballer in recent history to get a contract with top-division European team when recently-promoted Danish Superliga club FC Vestsjælland offered to take him on as part of a 6-month transfer for the second half of the 2013-14 season. Subrata had previously spent more than a month at the club and impressed head-coach Ove Pedersen as well as goal-keeping coach (and former Superliga goal-keeper) Claus Fallentin. Claus, in particular, was particularly impressed with Subrata’s swift reflexes but also stated that he had much to learn before he could reach his potential.
